Kung Fu Panda

ATTENTION ALL MOTHERS: Kung Fu Panda is awesome! This is Ace's favorite new movie. Jonathan found it on a movie channel the other night and Ace kept talking about it. Friday night, we found it again and watched the second half with him. At one point, the Panda fights with a Leopard and Ace started shouting, "Oh no. The Leopard." He said it about 30 times, getting more and more emphatic. I thought it might be scaring him but he wouldn't let us change the channel. He's watched it three times since. He woke up this morning asking for "Po." (That's the Panda's name.)
Cute, cute. And the message is that all you have to be, to be the best, is yourself.
It also made me realize that Ace is not ready for a movie theater. He talks and yells throughout the entire movie. =)

Favorite New Photos & Playtime

These are my three, new favorite photos. We took the top two this morning. We took Ace to the neighborhood pool. I got him some new shades because he kept saying, "Go away sun."

Ace decided he'd rather swing than swim. So Daddy obliged. Oh how this makes my heart melt.

Ace and I went outside yesterday to play with sidewalk chalk. It was all over his pants although you can barely tell from this photo. He told me to put away the camera. I said I would if he smile at me...
This is how we play. If you've watched ANY of our videos, you know Ace talks constantly. Here is a window into what he does every day.

People wonder how I am still working 40 hours a week with a two-year-old. I'm telling you. He has a big imagination and entertains himself. The other day, he told me his apple was a whale.

Talkie Talkie

Ace's talking is hilarious. He draws his words out into a million syllables.

I could eat him up.

AI - The 5th Judge

Here's my take on last night's performances. Remember, I love Kris Allen so I'm biased that way.

1st Song - Contestant's Choice
I like Adam better when he picks things up and sings like Aerosmith so the subdued performance wasn't my favorite way to get the show started. I am SOOO tired of Idols singing "Ain't No Sunshine" BUT I love the way Kris sang it. My favorite performance from him all season was Kanye West's whatever-it's-called from last week but I bet he didn't want to sing it two weeks in a row. I need to download that off ITunes! I agree with Simon, round 1 - Kris.

2nd Song - Simon Fuller Choice
Ummm...not the greatest song choices. Adam is really hip so "Things are gonna change" is just too old for him. Glad he left the leather aside for a nice suit though. I really liked Kris's song this round. I don't get what the judges were complaining about saying that it was too laid back. He's laid back. I love it when he gets the guitar out and is accompanied by those bongos. I think it's cool. It wasn't as deep as "Aint No Sunshine" but he was lightening things up.

3rd Song - First Single
Ugh. Does anyone remember how phenomenal "Dream Big" was when David Cook sang it last year...it was the one written by a viewer but not the first single??? I loved that. I was hoping for another "Dream Big" performance but it was all kind of o.k. I was worried when AI gave them the same song because Adam has such range that he can kind of kick Kris to the curb BUT Kris has me feeling such good emotions when he sings that I don't get with Adam. So, I don't know who did better. Better watch it again before the finale tonight.

I really think that Danny's voters will go over to Kris's side. I'm hoping. They are such different singers. Someone does need to tell Kris to watch his facial contortions when he's singing AND tell Adam to stop sticking his tongue out on those high notes. What do I know, maybe it helps.

Great, great season. Can anyone name all of the past Idols??? (Not in order.)

Kelly Clarkson
Jordin Sparks
Taylor Hicks
Clay Aiken
Fantasia Burrino (sp?)
Carrie Underwood
David Cook

Hee. Hee.

We're Back!

We had a great time on our cruise and are refreshed but are soooo happy to be back with Ace. He smelled so good when we got home yesterday. He kind of ignored me at first and asked for everyone but me...but he warmed up after dinner and was his old self by bed time. I'm working on the Cruise scrapbook but thought I'd upload some short videos.

Humor me on this one...this is the coolest invention ever. Wish I would have thought of it. It was in the Chicago airport. Wonder how much it costs to put one of these in our house...

The changing of the guards in Athens. These are authentic, military uniforms. We were told that the pom poms on the shoes were for hiding a weapon. They change EVERY hour. I wouldn't imagine it'd be very easy to fight in a skirt but our guide told us they wore pleated skirts to hide weapons in each pleat.

Notice the dog in the center who could care less about this.

The Vatican. A wobbly 30 seconds that ends looking up at the central dome of St. Peters. Nothing can be built taller than the central dome in Rome so that the top can be seen from any hilltop of the city.

You've got to love cruiseboat entertainment. There were two guys creating this midget. Jonathan said one guy is the face and his arms are in the legs. Another guy is just the arms. How they ever coordinated for this, I don't know. It was really funny.

I'll upload a link to the book as soon as it's finished but Jonathan and I took over 700 pictures so it's sure to take me a while.

Thank you again Honey and Sashi for taking such wonderful care of our most precious little man!

Only For Ace!

I am not responsible for what damage may be done to eardrums for anyone who listens to these other than Ace.

Good Morning Ace!

Acey, Do you want to sing with Mommy?

(Honey - watch out, I jump at the screen on the last note to Jingle Bells. It will make him laugh. Just don't want to give you a heart attack. Sorry to ruin the surprise.)

Acey, Want to sing like KaiLan?

Acey, Time for catechisms (our style)?

Night, night Ace. Mommy loves you with her whole heart.

Will I be doing these when he goes to college I wonder...
